What is beauty serum? What's it supposed to do vs facial lotion?

I'm currently using the loreal genesis, and I do like it. Am I supposed to use it morning, night or both? And then the usual facial lotion afterwards? Wash, tone,serun, undereye, lotion...I spend entirely too much time on skin care!





Also, what does this stuff do that the facial lotion doesn't?What is beauty serum? What's it supposed to do vs facial lotion?
If you use any products over the counter, like this one, they only treat dead skin, and will not achieve a result or reverse a skin condition.





To apply products, always start from the lightest to the heaviest, serums first, then lotions, sunblock makeup. If you use any products have the same consistency, pick the one that ';does the most ';(like Vitamin C) first.





Depending on your age, you fit into different categories in skin care.





In your twenties and below, its all about prevention. Good moisturizers, eye cream and sunblock, nothing fancy or too expensive.





30s everything the 20's are doing, but you need to get higher quality products, not from a mall, tray a day spa, med spa and dermatologist. At this point, you need to get an antioxidant. If you did damage in youth, see below.





40's, Now you have to get aggressive. The skin needs more and more help going through exfoliation, because this natural process slows as we age. The damage is done, and it is time to reverse it!
