Would it become a block buster? just another show? or a failure? How would a beauty pageant as a reality show work on a major channel?
Not sure how the public would view seeing females parade around wk after wk, supposedly based on their looks...I mean, isn't that what ANTM is all about?!
And are we talking teens, grown women or kids under ten? Also, there might be some very large security issues, especially if it wasn't an adult pageant (like Miss America). How would a beauty pageant as a reality show work on a major channel?
if it is in India, where music, song and dance reality shows have been topping the rating list it would most probably become a block buster.More so because all the other reality shows have been out there for quiet a few years and most of them are in their second ,third and fourth season.People naturally tend to become aversive towards monotony, looking forward to fresh concepts.Since a beauty pageant as a reality show is almost a virgin effort i think it should surely pay off at least until other channels ape it as usual.
Well, there was some kind of reality show for Miss America contestants, but it wasn't on a major network, if I recall correctly. I keep hearing that there is a kind of ';reality show'; centered around children's pageants, supposedly called Little Miss Perfect, that will be coming out soon.

But again, if this article is correct, it's not on a major channel. As much as I love pageants, I just don't see enough interest in them to have a pageant reality show on a major network. They have enough trouble keeping Miss America on the air and getting people to watch it... I can't imagine a pageant reality show doing amazingly well.
