In Renaissance art, what are some characteristics of male beauty?

In other words, if a Renaissance artist was painting a male and wanted to make him as attractive as possible according to the standards of that time and that style of art, what would he do? I know symmetry is one characteristic but I can't find any others and I need this information for a research paper...
