In what ways do beauty pageants do more harm than good?

In what ways do beauty pageants do more harm than good?

What are some facts that prove that beauty pageants do more harm than good!?! Anything helps! Thanks in advance :)In what ways do beauty pageants do more harm than good?
In the really young girls it teaches them to grow up too fast.

Also it promotes the idea that women are nothing but pretty faces and if you were to look at it from a feminist POV, it sets women back quite a bit.

Not to mention they're letting someone else judge whether or not they're beautiful based on purely superficial reasons and that alone can harm self esteem. Especially in the younger girls.

I suppose it could cause eating disorders along with other issues, The pressure to stay the prettiest to win could be quite hard on the girls. In what ways do beauty pageants do more harm than good?
Well to be honest I think a lot of these girls grow up to have substance abuse problems....they are subjected to feel not good enough even if they win, their own perception of beauty is tainted.....they are never feeling well of themselves unless someone hand's them a crown. Unless someone looks exactly like them they are considered ugly. Pretty messed up if you ask me.
well beauty pageants for like 2 year old are no good because well the parents go to crazy when are the kids want to do is have fun not have to wear high heels and they mom doing they hair every 2 hours that's just what i think
They make little girls feel like they are worthless unless they look perfect and act perfect at all times. Little girls grow up hating themselves and never feeling like they measure up. It's a sad way to go through life.
They objectify women
