Because it's always been you,
a crooked road alone,
a twisted fence,
crucifix in silver,
wilting flowers,
mourning doves.
It's only ever been proven,
the truth,
a dangerous angel...
do you hear me
anymore?
A sweet silence,
paradigm shattered,
but the memory...
harmonic symphony ascending into heaven.
Moments so profound,
a voiceless depth beyond infinity...
behold the silence,
imperfection removing definition.
God's ears bleed. How does one describe a terrifying beauty?
This is one of those poems that can mean different things to different people, such is always the case when religious imagery is used.
I see an internal urge, perhaps of a child to steal the pie set to cool on a window sill; perhaps of a lover to love another, if only briefly. Whatever the case, it is the universal battle within us all with sin/desire/right/wrong and on an on....
We all have devils--great and small--inside us, and sometimes, sometimes we see them as Heavenly.....
I wonder if you meant something close to this, if this is how God's ears were made to bleed in your world? How does one describe a terrifying beauty?
Once more, you have caused my jaw to drop in awe. And I mean awe - not merely amazement at how good this is, because I'm used to you amazing us. There is fear in awe, and I experience that with this poem just as I did when I drove through the Delaware Water Gap, or climbed 11,000 feet in the Rockies, or stood atop a mountaintop in Spain, looking southward at the Straits of Gibraltar and the African continent beyond. I remember those experiences clearly and often return to those memories - as I plan often to return to this poem - they help me to experience God. Thank you.
OMG, this is a breathtaking poem! its so beautiful, in a wilted sort of way. To me, it represents someone preserving their love for someone who has forgotten all about them, and that the person is living in the pain of not being loved.
i like the last phrase ';Gods ears bleed';. very chilling. Well done!
Did you write this? Because if you did, great job. This is exactly how you would describe a terrifying beauty.
I have been reading your poems. You seem to be very sad. I am sorry for you.
Such talent you have.
His eyes must be killing him......good words ET
